Leather Dog Collar
The American Bench Craft Full Grain Leather Dog Collar is made from the same 1/8” thick leather we use with our belts. It is constructed with solid brass hardware that will not rust, making this dog collar just as durable as it is stylish.
Rivets are capped on the inside of the collar for a smooth, rounded surface that will not scratch your dog’s neck, and the collar’s center ring allows for the collar to flip inside out if caught or snagged.

This Leather Dog Collar is constructed from a single strip of premium, full grain, vegetable-tanned leather. We stamp and finish the collar using simple hand tools for an entirely handcrafted product, proudly Made-in-the-USA.
Why Vegetable-Tanned Leather?
We use only full grain vegetable-tanned leather with our dog collars, because only vegetable-tanned leather is completely all-natural, is environmentally friendly, requires skilled craftsmen to produce and dye, smells like leather, not chemicals and develops a unique patina that makes each and every collar one-of-a-kind. All of this ensures our dog collars are of the highest quality and craftsmanship, and are built durable to survive and thrive in any environment.
How can you tell our Leather is Full Grain?
Upon close inspection, you’ll notice subtle scars, brands and marks that ensure your dog's collar was made from full grain leather. Hides are split into numerous layers; however, each hide has only one Full Grain layer. The Full Grain layer is the very top of the hide, and is the most sought after cut because it is the strongest layer and develops a unique patina, which allows the leather to improve with age and use.
The subtle imperfections characteristic of full grain leather ensure the authenticity of your dog collar, and that a completely all-natural and unaltered material was used in its construction, making your dog's collar incredibly durable and one-of-a-kind.
Why a Single Strip of Leather?
Simple products are more durable. Fewer parts equal less susceptibility to failure. The single piece design ensures our dog collars will last for years to come.
Why NO Thread Stitching?
Both thread stitching and metal rivets offer strong holds, however we have found rivets hold up better against the friction that results from your dog’s collar being worn every day. Heat and friction cause thread to fray. Heat and friction simply polish metal; making rivets a unique, strong and attractive alternative to thread stitching.
