After years of cast iron cooking with a cumbersome oven mitt, we decided to create something better. We wanted a handle cover that we could easily slide on and off with one hand and easily fit around handles of numerous shapes and sizes. Most importantly though, we wanted a handle cover that could be used with both pot and pan handles.

So, we created our Cast Iron Handle Guards. The unique yet simple design has a folded open-end construction that allows the guards to easily slip on and off. It also allows the guards to fit around handles of most shapes and sizes, and best of all, they can be used with both pot and pan handles.

Cast Iron Handle Guards (Set of 2)

Posted by Helgemo on 29th Jan 2018

Overall pleased with the quality of these handle guards. Probably a little high on the price side, but they come with the customization option included. They start out snug so depending on the cast iron you use, the handle may not slide smoothly into the grip, but heat has made them a little more pliable and fit great after a few uses. Grabbing the short handle with the fold can be a bit scary as there isn't anything to protect your fingers from touching the cast iron but is definitely something you can get used to.

We'll see what the longivevity is like, but based on the feel I have no qualms about it.
