This collar is perfect for taking your dog on a walk and is ideally suited for strong dogs that love to pull. When your dog pulls on the leash the collar will cinch, reminding your pup not to tug. Unlike choke collars, you can set the limit to which the collar can close when your dog is pulling, so that it will never cause them serious harm.

Personalized Brass Nameplate

The Custom Engraved Nameplate is stainless steel and is riveted to the collar. The Nameplate includes up to THREE lines of text. Each line allows for a maximum of 20 characters per line (including spaces), and all text will be automatically centered on the tag.

1.) How do I determine the correct collar size?

Please measure the EXACT circumference snug around your dog’s neck with a flexible tape measure or string. You want to measure the neck where you plan to have the collar sit (base of neck, middle, up around the ears). Do NOT leave “breathing room”. If the circumference of their neck measures 15”, select a 15” Dog Collar. The size you select will measure to the 3 center sizing holes with 2 additional holes on either side for any adjustment.

*Sizing refers to the circumference of your dog’s neck NOT the total length of the collar.

2.) How long does it take a collar to be made and shipped?

Our Personalized Dog Collars will ship within 7-10 business days. Our Non-Personalized Dog Collars will ship within 3-5 business days. This timeframe does not include transit time.Your order will ship via the postal method you select.

3.) If I select a faster shipping method, does that mean my Dog Collar will be made faster?

No. The shipping method you select does not affect the manufacturing turnaround time for dog collars/leashes. However, based on the shipping method you select, transit times may differ once it leaves our workshop.

4.) Do you accept returns/exchanges on Dog Collars?

We can accept returns/exchanges only on NON-personalized dog collars that have no signs of use or wear as long as all hang tags are still attached. Please note: if the incorrect size was ordered, we will try our best to adjust the length of the current collar. Personalized Dog Collars are final sale.

5.) What font is used for the engraved brass plates?

All plates are engraved with Times New Roman font. Unfortunately, we can not use different fonts. Font size is dependent on the amount of text on the plate.

6.) I inputted my engraving text wrong! Can it be changed?!

As long as you contact us within 24 hours we will try our best to update the engraving text. Please email us at info@americanbenchcraft.com

7.) How many sizing holes are there?

There are 5 sizing holes. Your selected collar size will put you at one of the 3 center sizing holes with 2 additional holes on either side for any adjustment.

8.) How wide are your Collars?

Our Large Breed Collars measure 1” wide and our Martingale and Small Breed Collars measure .75” wide.

9.) Are your collars waterproof?

No, our collars are not “waterproof”. We consider our collars “water resistant” meaning if you and your pup get caught in a rainstorm, their collar will be OK. However, we do not recommend letting your dog go swimming while wearing their collar, as extensive exposure to water will cause the leather to weaken and crack. If your dog does go swimming in it, remove the collar and allow it to thoroughly dry (naturally). Once it is dried, apply a liberal amount of leather conditioner.
